Because there live the two-thirds of the living animal and plant species on the earth. The other reason is that many medicines where found there. Pittsburg

Her is a photography of Pittsburg by night. Pittsburg is a city in California, USA. Here is something about history of this city: " Pittsburg has been a city in progress for nearly a century and a half. Located at the point where the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers meet, Pittsburg is a City of both progress and promise. The earliest recorded history of our town starts in the year 1839 when the Mexican government granted almost 10,000 acres to Jose Antone Mesa and Miguel Jose Garcia. Shortly thereafter the little town was named New York of the Pacific, possibly because the man who laid out the town, Colonel J.D. Stevenson, was a native of New York. This area soon became known as New York Landing and thrived on fishing and canning industries. Following the discovery of coal in the hills three miles south of town, the town was renamed Black Diamond in 1903. " You can find more here.

Polar bear

Here is a picture of a polar bear standing on a little iceberg. The iceberg is covered with blood from a seal which the bear is eating. The polar bear (Ursus maritimus), also known as the white bear, northern bear, sea bear, or nanuq in some Inuit lenguages, is a species of bear that is native to the Artic and is the apex predator within its range. Its thick blubber and fur insulate it against the cold, and its translucent fur, which appears white or cream-colored, camouflages it from its prey. The bear has a short tail and small ears that help reduce heat loss, as well as a relatively small head and long, tapered body to streamline it for swimming. The polar bear is a semi-aquatic marine mammal that depends mainly upon the pack ice and the marine food web for survival. It has uniquely adapted for life on a combination of land, sea, and ice and is now dependent on this combination. You can find more here.

Dubrovnik at sunset

On this photography we can see the city Dubrovnik in Croatia. Dubrovnik is one of the most famous cities in Croatia and it is a very well known summer resort. It has also a great harbour where comes very big ships and ferries. Here is something about history of Dubrovnik which was taken from it's official site: "Dubrovnik was founded in the first half of the 7th century by a group of refugees from Epidaurum (today's Cavtat). They established their settlement at the island and named it Laus. Opposite of that location, at the foot of Srđ Mountain, Slavs developed their own settlement under the name of Dubrovnik (named by "Dub" - type of wood). The settlements were separated by a channel which was filled in 12th century, present Placa or Stradun, and since than the two settlements have been united. At that time the city walls started to be built as a protection from different enemies ( Arabs, Venetian, Macedonians, Serbs, etc.), who wanted to conquer Dubrovnik."
